Our 2022 conference “Sherlock Holmes and the British Empire” will be open to all Sherlockians, and will be held in-person on July 29-31, 2022. We will have special group rates for lodgings.
Public reservations for lodgings and the Conference Program will open via our website beginning on Tuesday, May 17. Payment will be via postal mail and the deadline will be June 7, so plan to act quickly. Updated: See our 2022 BSI Empire Conference Report page for event details.
Conference topics will range as widely as the Empire in Holmes’s day: from India to Canada to Africa; from journalism to telegraphy to dining; from women in Empire to warfare to whist; and much more.
Conference sessions start at 9am on Saturday, July 30, and will finish on Sunday, July 31, at 3pm.
Registration will include breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. More details, and the reservations form, will be posted to our website on Tuesday, May 17.
The conference will be at the Bear Mountain Inn, near West Point, NY. All reservations for lodging at the Bear Mountain Inn for Friday/Saturday nights (July 29-30) must be made through the BSI (if you call the Inn directly, your reservation will be cancelled).
