The BSJ 2021 Christmas Annual cover

“The Dean of British Sherlockians”:
A Celebration of the Life and Works of S. C. Roberts.

Edited by Nicholas Utechin
with Roger Johnson and Guy Marriott.

Sir Sydney Castle Roberts wrote A Note on the Watson Problem at the end of the 1920s, brought out Doctor Watson in the 1930s, penned two famous pastiches, and became the first president of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London. A distinguished academic and man of Cambridge, he published a collection of his writings in the 1950s and wrote a literary memoir in the 1960s.

In addition to covering his life and writings, this year’s Annual also includes a pastiche by S. C. Roberts.
