Also included are a study by James H. Arva of dramatizations of the story, an essay on the history of black pearls and the Borgias by Marshall S. Berdan, Peter Calamai’s examination of Horace Harker and Victorian journalism, and a remarkable discovery by Roy Pilot, BSI, of Conan Doyle’s involvement in a bust-manufacturing business.
